Lab Technician - Civil Engineering

Reporting directly to the Laboratory Director for the School of Engineering, the Lab Technician will support operations for the department’s laboratories. Duties include ordering supplies and equipment, scheduling deliveries, preventative maintenance of equipment, and repair and/or replacement of broken and damaged equipment.

Additional responsibilities include developing new laboratory functions, maintaining the facilities and keeping the environment clean, secure, safe, organized and in professional condition. The Lab Tech is expected to inspect work areas and equipment to ensure compliance with Wentworth safety policies, guidelines, procedures, and programs. Document safety inspections, citing dangerous areas/procedures and recommend corrective procedures, and to maintain availability and replenish safety equipment supply.

The civil tech position requires someone that has worked in a lab environment.
R??equires some sort of tech school, or bachelors degree.

Minimum Knowledge Required	Working knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures and ability to apply in varied situations. Uses instructions and guidelines to perform the job safety function. Periodic training will be required.
