Information Technology (IT) and Facilities Security in our Braintree location. The position of Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) / Assistant Facility Security Office (AFSO) will make extensive use of your IT background and expand that into the area of industrial security. Your time will be split between maintaining the overall security framework on our accredited systems and working with the FSO enhancing the security posture inside the facility to Ultra employees and visitors.

The successful candidate will need to be able to switch between an IT and a security mind-set with ease.

This entry level position is highly visible within the organization and will collaborate with an ISSM and FSO teams in North Carolina and Virginia. This position will also have significant interaction with the local IT team.


Duties:
  • Developing, maintaining, and overseeing the system security program and policies for our accredited systems
  • Ensuring compliance with cyber security policies, concepts, and measures when designing, procuring, adopting, and developing new systems
  • Implementing the Assessment and Authorization process for classified information systems
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of systems functions, security policies, technical safeguards, and operational security measures
  • Assist in developing and implementing an effective system security education, training, and awareness program.
  • Possessing sufficient experience, commanding adequate resources, and being organizationally aligned to ensure prompt support and successful execution of a robust system security program.
  • Obtain/maintain NISP Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) access in order to effectively manage all security authorizations for systems under your purview.
  • From a technical standpoint, handling STIG of systems.
  • Performing other duties and responsibilities as delineated in Section 3.6 of the DAAPM.

This role will provide security guidance to Ultra employees and visitors.  Responsibilities will include but not limited to implementing and maintaining the facility's industrial security program. Understanding and interpreting the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual/32 CFR§117 (NISPOM) and DAAPM 2.2. Experience with the Defense Counterintelligence Security Agency (DCSA) is desired.   

Successful candidate will manage the security program and day to day operations of the office.  This position requires excellent professional judgment and discretion, as well as the identification, analysis and recommendations and implementation of actions to be taken in security-related and facilities matters.
  • Supported by the FSO, you will serve as (point of contact) POC for personnel security matters with DCSA,
  • Understand and provide guidance to employees around the security operation processes and procedures.
  • Manage the security aspects of various U.S. Government agencies’ classified programs including classified materials.
  • Perform maintenance in Defense Information System for Security (DISS)
  • Prepare and send DD1172s for CAC Card processing as required.
  • Provide initial Security Overview during new hire orientation and participate in Annual Security Refresher
  • Provide some escort support outside of normal business hours.
  • Working with FSO, investigate and report security violations with Program Managers, employees and management to develop appropriate corrective actions.
  • Assist with required annual self-inspections of security program, resolving possible security violations and initiating measures to correct security deficiencies.
  • Maintain Security knowledge is up to date through training, security meetings, and security-related memberships
  • Work closely with security team at all NS2 locations.
  • Manage visitors sign-in process and escort as needed.
  • Assist with Shipping and receiving of customer shipments as needed.

Required Skills:
  • Ability to obtain a US Government security clearance. Security clearances are granted to U.S. citizens.
  • Strong IT background.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work in teams with members from various disciplines.
  • Must be detail orientated and highly organized.
  • Must be proficient in prioritizing and multi-tasking.
  • Able to work independently with little guidance.
  • 6 mo. of ISSO experience, including experience with package creation and eMASS filings
  • Ethical Conduct

Desired Skills:
  • Postsecondary education in Computer Science or mix of education and experience in a related Information Technology field.
  • Security+ or equivalent DoD Approved Baseline Certification
  • 3+ yrs. industrial security experience with government contractor(s) preferred
  • Possesses basic knowledge of CUI (ITAR/EAR) regulations.
  • Experience interfacing with DCSA, Government customers, and executive management
  • Knowledge of DISS & NISS portals
  • Knowledge of the NISPOM / 32 CFR § 117
  • Experience with Insider Threat Programs
  • Ability to understand, explain, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, directives, and procedures.
  • Experience performing Security self-inspections
