Job seekers, like yourself have relied on us for decades to help them find the right job. As an employee of NEED you’ll be treated with the respect and dignity you deserve, and you’ll always be paid on time.
You really have no reason to be nervous. The company is interested enough to invite you to interview, so relax and be yourself.
Arrive at the interview with a good response to many of the questions you’ll be asked and with confidence. You should always have a few copies of your resume with references along with pen and paper. Dress appropriately, if you are not sure how best to dress, ask beforehand.
Part of an interview allows the interviewer to assess your communication skills. Answer questions clearly, concisely and confidently. Keep natural eye contact, too little and too much can create uneasiness. Additionally, avoid saying the interviewer’s name over and over again.
Treat the interview as a conversation. Remember to use your time to prove what you know and what you have accomplished. Maintain a positive attitude with every person you interact with. The interview is seen as indicative of what you will be like as their employee.
Make sure you leave with enough time to arrive early. Tardiness creates a poor image. Ensure you have the employer’s contact information so you can call if you become lost. Even better, make a dry run so that you know where you are going.
Show them you are interested in their company by asking them questions. After all, you are interviewing them as much as they are interviewing you. Notice whether they have the answers you're looking for. Ask about the company, the department, and the position. Do not leave the interview with unanswered questions about the job, you may not get another chance to ask.
Remember who you interviewed with so that you can follow up with them. Take notes of what went well and what went wrong. If there are any questions that come to mind write them down so that if you speak again you can address them.
Send a thank you to each interviewer within 24 hours. Express interest in the position and exactly how you could perform in that position. If you are working with a recruiter call them directly after the interview. They need to know if you are interested in the position so that they can provide positive feedback to the company. Finally, if you are not working with a recruiter and have not heard back from the company place a follow-up call a few days after they would receive your thank you.
When they call, answer quickly. Be flexible and available if they want you to return for further interviews. If you want the job, and they leave you a voicemail, don’t delay return the call quickly.
Have an idea of when you can start. Have in mind your salary expectations. If you are open regarding salary, listen to their first offer. If they are outside of your range, remain calm and honestly state the range you are looking for. Bear in mind that if you really want the job you should compromise as you are not the only candidate for the job.
